The 2003 Sundance Film Festival will mark the first year of the Sundance Animation Program.
While animation from American and International independent filmmakers has always been a part of Sundance, festival organizers say that the purpose of this program is "to spread recognition and appreciation for animation as a cinematic art form equal in quality and creativity to live action cinema."
