If you’re in the Austin, Texas area, here’s a great chance to quench your toon thirst: Alamo Drafthouse Cinema’s collectible art boutique Mondo will be hosting a gallery event Friday, April 27 featuring original artwork and posters inspired by Cartoon Network’s Emmy-nominated comedy series Adventure Time. Along with the art show, there will be an Adventure Time Marathon Screening and Feast at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar on Saturday, April 28, with show creator Pendleton Ward and Ice King voice actor Tom Kenny in attendance.
The gallery show opening will run from 7 to 10 p.m. and feature a collection of 40 pieces of original show art and posters designed by 31 talented artists inspired by the imaginative, bizarre world of Adventure Time to take viewers on a journey to the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo. The pieces will be on display at Mondo through May 26.
The Screening and Feast on Saturday will feature a special menu inspired by the show created by Alamo executive chef John Bullington. Attendees can sink their teeth into the “Everything Burrito,” “Wizard Rainbow Dogs,” “Decorpsinator Puffs” and “Meatman Meat” while watching 10 episodes featuring Finn and Jake. Totally mathematical!
