International TV content market MIPCOM announced today that its upcoming edition will honor Canadian TV, film and digital industries. Scheduled for Oct. 8-11, the market will feature a wide range of programs, screenings, panels and business events highlighting Canuck talent.

This focus on Canada will run throughout MIPJunior (Oct. 6,7) and MIPCOM (8-11) and will be produced in partnership with the Canada Media Fund and Telefilm Canada. Canadian dramas, animated programs, documentaries, films and experimental media will be highlighted during the festivities.

“With over 228 Canadian companies present at MIPCOM, Canada has been one of the most inspiring and active global players in the TV industry as long as we can remember,” says Laurine Garaude, director of Reed Midem’s TV division, which runs MIPCOM. “The Canada Media Fund and Telefilm Canada play a pivotal role in supporting Canadian TV, film and digital industries and that role is once again confirmed by their support for the Focus on Canada initiative.”
