Live Events Promote PBS’ New Cat in the Hat Series

PBS Kids is set to promote the Monday premiere of its new animated series The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That with a series of family-friendly events held across the nation over the Labor Day holiday weekend.

At the heart of the promotions are premiere launch events at various science locations across the country that offer sneak peeks at the new series and customized activities for preschoolers that reflect the themes of the show. These events are set for Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, New York, San Diego and Washington, D.C.

The events include a three-day event at the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Bronx Zoo in New York City; two days of Cat in the Hat-themed programming on Sept. 4 and 5 at the National Aquarium in Washington D.C.; one-day events Sept. 6 at the Dallas Zoo, Zoo Atlanta and the New England Aquarium in Boston; and screenings, photo opportunities and other activities at The Old Globe Theatre in San Diego.

The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That! was created to introduce scientific inquiry skills and core science concepts to preschoolers. Featuring the voice of Martin Short as the Cat in the Hat, the series is a production of Portfolio Entertainment and Collingwood O’Hare Productions, in association with Dr. Seuss Enterprises, Random House Children’s Entertainment, Treehouse and PBS Kids.
