The 3rd Annual Los Angeles Animation Festival will feature the West Coast premiere of Bibo Bergeron’s 3-D feature A Monster in Paris, as well as revivals of The Iron Giant, Team America: World Police, Fantastic Planet, Akira and Shrek. Scheduled to run from March 7-11 at the Regent Showcase theater in Hollywood, this year’s LAFF also includes Sean Lennon as artistic director and will honor a special tribute to indie legend Bill Plympton.
The festival will also include a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Six Point Harness’s hugely successful web toon, Dick Figures, which has over 85 million views today, as well as a unique tribute to the past and present of MTV’s influential show Liquid Television.
“Beyond celebrating the world of animation, LAAF provides up and coming animators the opportunity to connect with industry professionals and showcase their work,” said John Andrews, LAAF founder & co-director. “This year we’re excited to honor one of the greats of animation, Bill Plympton, whose work and independent career have inspired so many of us in the field of animation.”
