With a record 22 million votes cast, kids were out in force to support their favorite TV shows, movies and entertainers for Nickelodeon’s 16th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards, which aired on Saturday, April 12. Seven-time host Rosie O’Donnell presided over the ceremony as Jim Carrey got drenched in Nick’s signature green goo and several denizens of the cartoon world took home the coveted Blimp trophy.
SpongeBob SquarePants landed a double win. The show was voted Favorite Cartoon, while SpongeBob SquarePants and Revenge of the flying Dutchmen took the award for Favorite Video Game.
Once again proving that kids love Adam Sandler, the actor won Favorite Voice From An Animated Movie for his work on Sony Pictures’ holiday-themed comedy 8 Crazy Nights. Sandler was also voted Favorite Actor for his role in Sony’s Mr. Deeds.
Favorite TV Show went to Nick’s Lizzie McGuire, but perhaps the most prestigious award of the evening went to Warner Bros.’ CG/live-action big-screen version of a cartoon classic. Scooby-Doo managed to make the cut for Favorite Fart In A Movie.
