Independent Women in Animation

October 20, 2003 by Ryan Ball divider image

How hard can it be to get an independent animation studio off the ground? Women in Animation (WIA) Los Angeles will attempt to answer that question as it presents its next general meeting: "It Sounds Crazy, Doc, But it Might Just Work!: Starting An Independent Animation Studio."

A panel of indie artists will share their stories and explain how they’ve managed to swim with the sharks and survive. Panelists include Antonella & Roland of Animanto, Creative Capers partner Dave Molina, Renegade Animation exec. producer Ashley Postlewaite, Friendly Feeling exec. producer Kaye Robinson and Tom T. Animation head Tom Tataranowitcz.

AWN’s Sarah Baisley will moderate the discussion to be held on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 7:00 p.m. Networking will begin at 6:30 p.m. The event will be hosted by Klasky Csupo at 6353 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood.

The last day to RSVP is Oct. 28. Call (310) 535-3838. Your name must be on the guard’s list to gain entrance. Members will be given seating priority and free admission. A $10 donation is required of non-members.
