The HypeFest film & video festival has announced its 2003 selection of short films, music videos, commercials and promos. Held at Cinespace in Hollywood on July 26 and 27, the event will introduce animation enthusiasts and professionals to original works from the U.S. and around the world.
The one-hour “Sunday Morning Cartoons” screening on Sunday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. will showcase 2D and 3D animated projects including the Peter Gabriel video “Growing Up” (Entropie Films and Notorious Pictures), New Zealand Lottery’s spot “Lotto Cog” (Flux Animation Group), a promo for Night Out On Sho-Too (Film Roman Inc.), the short film Spiderweb (Rhythm & Hues), a promo for The Animated Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie (dir. Dave Thomas/ANIMAX) and the Lemon Jelly video “Nice Weather For Ducks” (Tandem Films). HypeFest Passes are now available for purchase. The $50 pass provides entry to the festival on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27, including the closing night awards event and party. To order, go to www.hypefest.com.
Individual screening tickets will be available while supplies last 10 minutes prior to each screening at Cinespace at 6356 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, Calif. Individual tickets are $5 (cash only).
