Fest Honors Plympton With Debut El Dorado Award

The San Joaquin International Film Festival will present its inaugural El Dorado Award to Oscar-nominated animator Bill Plympton.

The festival ‘ now in its second year and set to be run from May 14-23 ‘ will present the award to Plympton at the local premiere of his most recent animated feature Idiots and Angels. The screening will be held May 16 at the Stockton Empire Theatre in Stockton, Calif.

Plympton also will give a master class at the festival’s filmmakers and VIP brunch on May 17 at 10 a.m.

The festival, based in Stockton, will feature about 120 films from 40 countries in its run.
