PGA New Media Council and the Producer’s Guild will hold the latest in their entertaining and informative series of panel discussions on Thusday, March 18 at 8 p.m. at Universal Studios. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the DVD producers and executives behind The Adventures of Indiana Jones DVD collection, Seabiscuit, Aliens Quadrilogy, X-Men 2, The Simpsons, Step Into Liquid, T2: Extreme, Finding Nemo, The Lion King Special Edition, Shrek and Miniority Report.
Scott Hettrick, home entertainment editor of Variety and editor-in-chief of Video Business and DVD Exclusive will lead the discussion on the future of DVD production. Hettrick is also the founder and producer of the annual DVD Exclusive Awards, produced by Dick Clark Prods. for the FX cable network, and is writing a book on the evolution and future of DVD for Reed Publishing.
The focus of the evening will be key issues in DVD production, including the state of the business, digital piracy/copyright protection and the emerging trends in DVD technology and distribution vehicles. Panelists will include Buena Vista Home Ent. sr. VP of DVD productions and worldwide creative services Andy Siditsky, "making of" documentary producer Laurent Bouzereau, Lions Gate Ent. exec director of marketing Randy Wells, Studio Cognito media architect Blaine Graboyes, Shrek DVD producer Mark Rowen and Movielink CEO Jim Ramo.
