DreamWorks to Unspool Toons at Lincoln Center

Al Roker and Chris Rock are among the celebs slated to appear at “Animation Now: Imagination, Innovation, Inspiration,” an event presented by DreamWorks Animation and the Film Society of Lincoln Center on May 1st in New York City. This family event promises a cool behind-the-scenes look at how many of the hot studio’s animated features are created.

Showcasing the studio’s upcoming Madagacar feature, “Animation Now” will also include footage from Over the Hedge, the new Shrek movie and Bee Movie. According to DreamWorks, "the event will take [auds] through the ever-chancing challenges of creating contemporary

Animated features, from the first glimmer of an idea to story development, production design (and) voice work." The special program will be presented at Alice Tully Hall.
