Daria Creator Graces Portland Indy Fest

Patrick Smith, one of New York City’s foremost independent animators, will be a guest of honor at this year’s Portland Indy Animation Festival on Wdenesday, Aug. 11 at 8 p.m. The director of the acclaimed independent film, Drink, will show several recent independent shorts, a new music video and episodes of his MTV shows Downtown and Daria.

Smith, whose diverse credits also include the signature “Dot” character from the Zoloft commercials, will discuss survival as an independent filmmaker who balances personal projects with commercial work.
