Brooklyn Film Fest Offers Two Animation Tracks

The 2016 Brooklyn Fest Festival will bring a diverse selection of international and local films to the New York borough from June 3-12, including two dedicated Animation Programs. The event presents awards for Best Animation (last year’s winner was Day 40 by Sol Friedman) and Best Experimental, and Spirit and Audience Awards in these categories.

Younger film fans can check out kid-friendly animated shorts included in the 12th annual kidsfilmfest, taking place June 4 from 1 – 3 p.m. at Made in NY Media Center. The program, which also includes live-action films and documentaries, will be followed by a filmmaker Q&A and workshop.

BFF’s Animation Program 1 will screen on June 5 at the Wythe Hotel at 2:30 p.m. and on June 8 at Windmill Studios at 10:30 p.m.; and Animation Program 2 on June 6 at Wythe Hotel at 6 p.m. and June 12 at Windmill at 2 p.m.
