Global content distributor Boat Rocker Rights is setting course for MIPTV (April 9-11) with a slate of over 200 hours of award-winning kids & family content and factual programming.
Boat Rocker is premiering children’s content at MIP for the first time this year, highlighted by three acclaimed animated series from the FremantleMedia Kids & Family portfolio (acquired in January): Bitz & Bob, Danger Mouse and Tasty Tales of the Food Truckers.
Bitz & Bob (44 x 11’) is a groundbreaking new comedy adventure which premiered on CBeebies this spring. The show combines funny stories and an inspirational heroine with key principles of STEAM designed to get preschoolers excited about science and engineering. Hilarious and irreverent, the new animated comedy series Tasty Tales of the Food Truckers (52 x 11’) is a mouth-watering treat about eating, travel, creativity, friendship, cooking, fun and FOOD! And – the World’s Greatest Secret Agent, Danger Mouse, is returning to save the world yet again in even more high-octane, high-comedy, villain-thwarting, award-winning animated adventures (Season 2, 26 x 11’).
Also on the docket is the cute and colorful CG-animated preschool series The Polos (52 x 5’), based on the multi-award-winning educational apps from MarcoPolo E-Learning and presenting a natural science curriculum in a unique, compelling way. The series is produced by MarcoPolo Learning, Radical Sheep Productions and Jam Filled Entertainment.
Boat Rocker’s live-action slate features reality-style teen drama The Next Step (Radical Sheep; S6 26 x 20’), historical fiction Gudrun: The Viking Princess (Mara Media for CBeebies; 20 x 5’), and factual offerings History in the Making (Crooked Horse Prod.; S1 & 2, 13 x 30’ each), Late Nite Eats (Crooked Horse, 13 x 30’), Tougher Than It Looks (Proper Television, S2 22 x 30’), Last Stop Garage (Proper TV, 24 x 30’), and Body Hack (Essential Media and Ent.; S1 12 x 60’, S2 6 x 60’).
Jon Rutherford, President, Boat Rocker Rights, said: “We are delighted to bring such a rich and varied programming slate to MIPTV. This is our first market since we acquired FremantleMedia Kids & Family’s portfolio and we look forward to talking to broadcasters about our expanded catalogue of premium kids and family entertainment.”
