The call for entries has gone out for the 37th annual Annie Awards ‘ which this year will see some changes to the rules.
The Annies, which are presented by ASIFA-Hollywood and honor excellence in the field of animation, will bestow awards in 25 categories. Entries must be from productions released in the United States in the calendar year 2009. Entries must be received by Oct. 16.
Some changes have been made to the rules and categories this year, which ASIFA-Hollywood described as follows in a news release:
‘ The Individual Achievement Television or Short Form categories have been changed back to recognize Television only
‘ Music categories will include composers and lyricists who have written songs appearing in a production and who are part of the music team
‘ ASIFA-Hollywood members will vote only on the Production categories this year – Features, Home Entertainment, Short Subject, Television Commercials, Television Production, Television Production for Children and Video Games; and
‘ A final election committee of animation professionals will determine the award recipients for all of the Individual Achievement categories
The winners will be announced at a black-tie awards ceremony set for Feb. 6 at Royce Hall on the campus of UCLA.
