The Annecy Festival is celebrating its landmark 50th edition with a competition open to original animation content to be held on YouTube.
Entering the competition is simple: Create a short animated film no longer than 5 minutes and upload it to YouTube no later than midnight on May 1. Films should have celebration and anniversaries as themes and integrate the key terms ’50,’ ‘festival’ and ‘Annecy.’
Users will vote for their favorites, with the 10 top vote-getters at the close of balloting on May 23 going before a jury of professionals that will choose a winner.
The winner will be treated to a week at the Annecy 2010 festival, set for June 7-12. The top three shorts also will receive a copy of the Autodesk software.
