Animated Lies Earns Top Short Honor at Sundance

Lies, an animated short film from Swedish director Jonas Odell, has earned the top prize for international shorts at the Sundance Film Festival.The film features three episodes dealing with the subject of lies and their consequences, and is Odell’s second successful short. His 2006 short, Never Like the First Time! was also a hit on the festival circuit.

The live-action short, Short Term 12, won the overall jury prize in short filmmaking at Sundance.

Additionally, two American animated entries were among the eight shorts that earned an honorable mention from the jury: I Live in the Woods , the debut effort of young animator, Max Winston, and Western Spaghetti by acclaimed New York artist and animator PES.
