Italy’s popular computer graphics conference View has announced its 2013...


Uli Meyer Studios has completed the latest in a series of animated commercials for BSKYB. Featuring Lil Red and Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft, Rock Idol is part of BSKYB’s skyactive campaign to entice viewers to play Tomb Raider as part of their interactive games palette.
The spot follows Croft as she explores a museum and dodges laser beams to get to a statue of a mystical icon. She brushes away a layer of dust on an engraved plaque to reveal the words “Rock Idol.” The statue of Lil Red suddenly comes to life, beckoning "Go on touch me, I rock".
Created by BSKYB’s Dan Morgan and Craig Marsh, the spot was directed by Uli Meyer and produced by Cleo Hodgkinson. The animation was achieved through Maya by Daniel Martin Peixe and Jamie Beard. Backgrounds were built by Davide Tromba and lit by Charlie Barrault-Lovett and Chris Baker. Compositing was done by David Griffith using Combustion. Matt Saxton produced and edited the filan product for Uli Meyer.
