The Simpsons team revealed at Comic-Con a couple of the popular titles that will be parodied in the upcoming video game as the show’s Emmy-winning writers and voice cast team up to bring gamers the ultimate interactive Simpsons experience. Created in partnership with Gracie Films, Twentieth Century Fox Television and Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising, the Electronic Arts release will feature Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, along with other favorite Springfield residents, in an all-new comedic, interactive adventure.
Series writer Matt Selman told fans they can look forward to a parody of Medal of Honor, as well as a level titled ‘Grand Theft Scratchy.’ The game’s art will imitate life as Marge worries about the violent video game and the effect it may be having on her kids. Bartman will also be featured prominently in the game, which will offer 16 levels.
Using new powers, gamers will help the Simpson clan save the world from rising chaos in the game, which will take players on a journey through all of Springfield and on to vast worlds beyond. Under development by EA’s Redwood Shores Studio, The Simpsons Game is scheduled for release this fall for the PlayStation3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS.
