Millimages Makes First Commercials

French animation producer Millimages has made its first foray into commercial production. The new business focus on creating animated spots was launched and supervised by Philippe Gompel. The company won its first bid from advertising agency BETC Euro RSCG and produced a new French TV advertising campaign for mobile telephone operator Orange.

The project, managed by Serge Ewenczyk at Millimages, brought together the talents of illustrator Lewis Trondheim, well known for his cartoon work published in Le Seuil, Dargaud, Delcourt, Les Inrockuptibles, Spirou and Okapi, and young director Merwan Chabanne. The team put together a series of 30-second 2D animated spots that began airing June 30 on French TV Ccannels.
