Comic Actor DeLuise Dead at 75

Comic actor Dom DeLuise, who voiced many animated shows in addition to having a long live-action movie career, died May 4 at the age of 75.
DeLuise’s extensive animation credits include voices in The Secret of NIMH, An American Tail, Oliver & Company, All Dogs Go to Heaven, A Troll in Central Park and An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, and guest appearances on TV series such as Duck Dodgers, The Wild Thornberrys, Hercules, The Ren and Stimpy Show, Duckman, I Am Weasel, The Roman Holidays and The Magic School Bus.

DeLuise is best known for his many films with Mel Brooks and Burt Reynolds. His Brooks repertoire includes The Twelve Chairs, Blazing Saddles, Silent Movie, History of the World Part I, Spaceballs and Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
The Secret of NIMH
He and Reynolds appeared together in such films as The End, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Smokey and the Bandit II, The Cannonball Run and Cannonball Run II.
He additionally was well known as a chef, having written two cookbooks and appearing on morning talk shows to prepare meals.
