Warner Home Video has announced a new trade-up program that allows owners of HD-DVD discs to upgrade to a Blu-ray disc of the same content and a Blu-ray customer loyalty plan.
The trade-up program, titled Red2Blu, allows owners of Warner titles in the discontinued HD-DVD format to upgrade to the Blu-ray version of the same title. Consumers in the United States can trade up virtually any Warner HD-DVD title (up to 25) for a small fee plus shipping and handling. More information on the program can be found online at red2blu.com.
The customer loyalty program is called the Warnerblu Buy 5 Get 1 Free program. The program is open to consumers in the United States and Canada who buy five participating Warner Blu-ray titles before April 6, 2010. The program requires users to create an account online and register their releases to get the free title. The first participating title is Yes Man, with more details available at warnerblu.com/rewards.
