PorchLight Brings Boowa & Kwala to DVD

PorchLight Home Entertainment (PHE) has acquired U.S. DVD distribution rights to Boowa & Kwala, an animated preschool series from Granada International. Based on the popular web-based characters created by French company Up to Ten, the show is produced by Timoon Animation in France and has been a hit with kids in Europe.

Directed by Xavier Picard (The Littlest Pet Shop), Boowa & Kwala takes place in a colorful world and is designed to help preschoolers develop their imagination through music and song. Kids in the U.S. will be introduced to the antics of Boowa, a dog who loves to laugh and sing, and Kwala a cheeky and energetic koala bear.

During its first year of operation, PHE met success with such award-winning titles as LeapFrog’s holiday special A Tad of Christmas Cheer, the Wheels on the Bus series, the Travel With Kids series and the FARMkids series. Upcoming releases include sets of episodes of the animated shows Loopdidoo, 64 Zoo Lane and Animalia. The company recently launched the Porchlight INSPIRE label, featuring inspirational and faith-based children’s and family entertainment.
