Stan Lee, Disney Ink Pic Deal

Famed comic book creator Stan Lee will develop three heroic franchises for Disney through his POW! Ent., according to The Hollywood Reporter. Lee conceived the stories and will exec produce the projects along with POW! partner Gill Champion. The properties fall under a multi-year, first-look deal struck between Disney and POW! in June of 2007.

Screenwirter Richard LaGravenese, who earned an Oscar nomination for The Fisher King and recently penned the romantic comedy P.S. I Love You, has signed on to write and direct a private eye story titled Nick Ratchet. Sonny Grosso and Larry Jacobson are circling the project with an eye on producing.

Zoe Green, who has written for the Wolverine & The X-Men animated series, is scipting Tigress (working title), which has a woman begin to take on tiger-like instincts. Robert Teitel and George Tillman Jr. of State Street Pictures are producing. Also in the pipeline is a action-adventure tentpole titled Blaze, which is being written by Gary Goldman (Next). Todd Murata will spearhead Blaze and Tigress, while Brigham Taylor oversees all three projects for Disney.
