Mila Kunis, who first entered the public eye a cast member on That ’70s Show and currently voices the role of Meg Griffin on Family Guy, is now helping 20 Century Fox bring a hit video game to the big screen. Daily Variety reports that the actress has sighed on to star opposite Mark Wahlberg in a movie based on Rockstar Games’ Max Payne.

Directed by John Moore (The Omen-2006), Max Payne will see Wahlberg in the title role, a DEA agent who lost his family and finds himself framed for murder when he comes too close to uncovering a conspiracy. Kunis will play an assassin out to avenge the death of her sister.

Julie Silverman and Scott Faye are producing the pic, which was adapted for the screen by Saw IV scribe Thomas H. Fenton. Fox is apparently aiming for a PG-13 rating to draw in young game enthusiasts.

The Max Payne game is a third-person shooter developed by Finnish company Remedy Ent. and produced by 3D Realms. It was originally published for PC in 2001 by Gathering of Developers, and later ported for Xbox and PlayStation 3 by Rockstar. The sequel Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne hit stores in 2003, followed by Max Payne 3 and a Game Boy Advance version.

Stop making videogame based movies!! This guys are destroying good videogames, stories for videogames should stay in videogames, Max Payne isn\'t even a game for underage people, why would they want to attract young gamers to watch the movie and then play the Max Payne videogames which are not suitable for their age?

Bad for Rockstar letting this guys make a movie of one of their great videogames!

Note: Max Payne looks a lot like Johnny Knoxville, not like Mark Wahlberg.
