Kournikova Gets Animated for Kids

Sexy former tennis pro Anna Kournikova has doubled up with Cartoon Network to promote physical activity among children. An ambassador for Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), Kournikova will be featured with popular Cartoon Network characters in a new healthy lifestyles DVD program titled Get Animated with Anna Kournikova. The disc will teach kids fun, creative ways to stay healthy and active in any typical indoor classroom, and will be introduced to around 4,000 Boys & Girls Clubs across the country starting June 4.

"The overall objective of Get Animated with Anna Kournikova is to instill a sense of the benefits and importance of daily movement," says Dennis Adamovich, senior VP of marketing at Cartoon Network. "This project will be applicable to all kids, not just athletes, and implemented daily throughout Boys & Girls Clubs."

"As an athlete, I understand the importance of being in good shape and leading a healthy lifestyle so I wanted to share some of my knowledge with today's youth in a fun and interactive way,” adds Kournikova. “It's about making our kids stronger in both body and mind."

Serving as the host of the DVD, Kournikova will be assisted throughout the presentation by such Cartoon Network stars as Bloo from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Lazlo and Raj from Camp Lazlo, and Billy and Mandy from The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. The Cartoon Network-sponsored project will reach more than four million kids between the ages of 6-13, and will be promoted with banners, hotlinks and video messaging at CartoonNetwork.com.

  I think that it is a great idea for Anna Kournikova to join in and create this concept by animating herself. I think that it will instill to little children of why daily movement is very important for us and how it will help us later in our lives.
