Winx Fairies Spread Movie Wings

The fashion-conscious fairies of Rainbow’s Winx Club are ready for their big-screen close-up. It was announced this week that the Rome, Italy-based Rainbow is producing a CG-animated feature based on the property, slated for a holiday 2007 release date. With an estimated budget of 25 million euros ($34.13 million), the feature is titled Winx Club: The Secret of a Kingdom (Winx Club, il Segreto di un Regno). RAI Fiction and RAI Cinema will be co-producing with Rainbow.

The feature will be directed by Rainbow CGI founder and series creator, Iginio Straffi. It will follow the adventures of the five teenage fairies who band together against evil witches bent on destroying their club. The picture’s budget is estimated to be the highest ever for an Italian-made animated film.

Since its premiere on RAI 2 in Italy in January 2004, Winx Club has been broadcast on cable and satellite networks all over the world. In the U.S., it airs on 4Kids TV on FOX. 4Kids holds the licensing rights to the show and has licensed the Winx Club name and image to a wide variety of children’s apparel and books.   Even though they have the title in english thats just the RAI english version and since the US (Fox) had to stupidly change some concepts of the winx and even shorten the enchantix tranformation who knows how worse the US can change the moive?!
  
  I think that they should air the movie here in the US.
  I want to see it but the only place I found it was on youtube and they cut off the movie...I want to see the whole movie...in Rai english.

  I heard that they plan to show the movie in America on 4kids television on September 1st but if they don\\\'t stick to the original movie this movie is going to suck big time for why they are releasing it on television instead of theaters because they probably won\\\'t keep the enchantix song and the song Unica which if you where to watch the english unica song you understand just type in Unica in english to watch the one from the Hungarian movie but the Us is usually good at keeping movies in good working order I think.

  I was so looking forward to the movie! I waited that entire week, just to find out they were not going to air it on September 1st! They either did or already did make the movie in English because one of the cast members was talking about dubbing movie....and how she was excited about it. Can\'t remember where i read it.   I was watching Secret of the Lost Kingdoms (It was on VeohTV, english subbed) and I hate to say this, but i think it sucked. Not to offend the people who made it, but the Winx Girls looked TERRIBLE! The enchantix transformations were shortened, the girls looked really unrealistic, the voices were different too! So, pretty much, the movie sucks...no offense.

  yeah they already aired in on sept. 1st on fox 30 or something liek that... the trailers for it sucked though =/ the 3-D version did not make the girls look pretty... voices are horrible! i like the U.S.A version of them better.. and their voices! =] and yeah i can\'t wait until the 4th season..but since it comes out of italy in 2009.. we in the U.S. will probably not get it until 2012 or something =/

  I didn\'t think it was out in english yet! I went on to that website about the winx movie and they had about 10 flags there and none of them were the american flag.
