The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will screen the Oscar-nominated and winning shorts of animator Chuck Jones in a special program Aug. 20.

The screening is presented in conjunction with the academy’s exhibit, Chuck Jones: An Animator’s Life From A to Z-Z-Z-Z.

The event includes Jones’ three Oscar-winning films — For Scent-Imental Reasons (1949), So Much for So Little (1949) and The Dot and the Line (1965) — as well as his six nominated films: Mouse Wreckers (1948), From A to Z-Z-Z-Z (1953), High Note (1960), Beep Prepared (1961), Nelly’s Folly (1961) and Now Hear This (1962).

The screening will be held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater at 8949 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills. Tickets cost $5 for the general public and $3 for academy members and can be purchased at the academy box office, by mail or online at www.oscars.org.

The exhibit runs through Aug. 22 in the Academy’s Grand Lobby Gallery in Beverly Hills. For more information, call (310) 247-3600.
