Development and production veteran Maggie Murphy has joined Cookie Jar Entertainment to develop and expand the company’s tween-targeted and primetime programming slates as senior VP of development.
Murphy, who will report to exec VP and head of worldwide TV Tom Mazza, comes to the company from Kiefer Sutherland’s Eastside Entertainment, where she served as president. Her resume also includes serving as senior VP of drama development for UPN, where she oversaw such shows as In Plain Sight and Veronica Mars.
“Maggie will be helping Cookie Jar create an atmosphere where writers can work and develop top quality projects for the North American and worldwide markets,” said Mazza. “Her experience on both sides of the creative table will be invaluable to her efforts at Cookie Jar.”
