Disney XD Nabs Naruto Shippuden

Naruto’s back — and Disney XD has him.
The cable channel has struck a deal with VIZ Media to air starting next month the sequel series Naruto Shippuden, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The original Naruto has been airing on Cartoon Network since 2005, and the manga series it’s based on has been a top seller for VIZ. Naruto Shippuden follows the characters of the original series into their teens.
Subtitled episodes of Naruto Shippuden have been among the most popular streams on Internet video sites Hulu and Joost. The new series also has done well as a series of video games from Tomy.
Execs for VIZ told the trade publication that the boy-focused Disney XD was a good fit with the property. “We know Disney XD has been tracking really well since it launched in February and we think our top brand matches well with that audience,” said Bill Germain, VIZ’s media director of programming sales.

This is anime in general\\\'s big chance to get to the UK on TV officialy, and once it does it will be treated with more respect, less editing and more advertisement.
Disney XD has promised not to edit as bad as CN did, infact they will edit it less, because their target audience is children and teens aged 4-14, meaning it will be late night and have most of the original footage in it.

Why is everyone up in arms about this. Sure, I\'m kind of thrown off that it\'s on Disney, but it\'s not like much is gonna change. It seemed that ever since the first dubbed episode, it looked as if Viz wanted to aim the show to the younger audience rather than the older audience the original was getting. It makes sense when you realize how much more profit they can get when aiming it at the kiddies. Having it now join Disney seemed inevitable in that sense.

Let me get this straight. You guys want to boycott Disney XD? If Disney XD lose Naruto then Naruto WILL BE GONE FOR GOOD, no one wanted to air naruto because they think it will have low rating, be fuckin grateful to Disney XD.
Also, Cartoon Network is turning into a reality station anyways with gay shows, the only reason I still watch Cartoon Network is for re-runs of the old classics and Adult Swim, if anything I would never watch CN again if Adult Swim was cancelled. I would rather watch Disney XD just for the epicness of the Fresh Prince Of Belair, and the abundance of the old classics.
I live in Chicago,(Central time) which means Naruto Shippuden comes on around 11:00 pm, that means all the children who obey their parents would be asleep because of school if it wasn\\\'t the weekends. (Some kids will stay up anyways, so what is the point?) So they can show porn for all anyway cares. There are plenty of other shows that curse on Disney XD and once again, the episodes will NOT be showing before 9:00 pm, Disney XD has made that clear, they do not edit or control what shows on the episodes, ALL THEY DO IS AIR THEM. Viz and Kishimoto own all rights to Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, not Disney XD. So yes, no scenes will be cut.
Some of you just don\\\'t want to see, Naruto Shippuden on Disney XD, just because of your selfish reasons of Disney XD being a \\\"kiddy channel\\\" which in fact Cartoon Network is turning into. Do you see their morning line up? Wake up people. It\\\'s time to let go of those memories of what cartoon network use to be. After the death of Toonami it went down drain from there.

Everyone needs to calm down. First off, adult swim wouldn\'t dare touch something like Naruto. There already limiting there anime showing to saturday nights, and there mostly repeats of blood x and inuyasha excluding Bleach which has yet to finish. CN is switching to more more live action shows and seems to have forgotten its own company name.
Point being, either watch it on disney and shut up, or go back to readng the mangas and watching the shows free online. Nothing has really changed, only the decline of good shows featured on Tv period.
