Big Communications, Flux Animation Studio and Yoram Gross-EM.TV are launching a new co-production deal on Master Raindrop, a 3D/2D animated action adventure comedy series.

This deal, to be signed at MIPTV 2006, brings together three leaders in children’s entertainment from around Southeast Asia. EM.Entertainment GmbH has been appointed as the international distributor for the show. The first pre-sale to The Seven Network Australia is already in the works.

Originally created by Singaporean company Big Communications, Master Raindrop is based on a series of Asian myths and legends. The comedy action adventure series follows 3D characters through “The World of Thousand Lands”. Targeted at 8-11 years olds, the new series chronicles the journey of four young friends—Raindrop, Shao Yen, Peppy and Inochi—in search of their Master, who has been captured by the Evil Prime Minister Zhou.

(It’s) a unique production,” says Geoff Watson, managing director of Yoram Gross-EM.TV. It’ll introduce audiences to classic Asian folklores and legends.”

Brent Chambers, managing director of Flux adds: “This will be the first official co-production between New Zealand and Singapore, and represents a huge step forward for the New Zealand industry.”
